E komo mai! Welcome to Keala Lani, your “Pathway to Heaven” overlooking the awesome beauty of Kealakekua Bay in Captain Cook, Hawaii. Just 30 minutes from the Kona airport, Keala Lani nestles among tropical flowers and coffee trees at a temperate 1200-foot elevation and offers you what has been called the best view in South Kona. The deep blue waters of the bay and more than 180 degrees of skyline are yours to behold from almost every room, as well as from the three lanais (decks or porches) of our spacious, airy, and delightful home. Every evening the setting sun stages a glorious pageant as it bids goodnight to the islands.
Situated in prestigious McCoy Plantation subdivision, this 3+ bedroom, 3 bath home offers comfort, tranquility, and a true Hawaiian ambience. If you need a smaller living space, we also offer Lani Iki, a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment (actually the entire lower story of Keala Lani). Further information on Lani Iki is available on the HOUSE AND APT. DETAILS page.
Our home is ideally located, far enough from the town’s bustle to provide a peaceful haven, yet close to all your basic conveniences—just 5 minutes to a large, well-stocked super-market and deli, as well as several excellent restaurants, post office, gas station, and numerous interesting shops and galleries. In less than 10 minutes you can be in or on historic Kealakekua Bay, swimming, snorkeling, or kayaking in its magical crystalline waters. If the Hawaiian gods are smiling on you (and they may very well be), they will send our resident pod of spinner dolphins to leap, play and yes, spin, around you. And did we mention the stunning view?
A 20-minute drive to the north brings you to Kailua town (known as Kailua-Kona) with its premier surfing and snorkeling beaches, myriad fine restaurants, local markets, arts and crafts galleries, and wonderful stores both small and large to fulfill your soul and body. On your way to Kailua you will find more enticing places to shop and dine. See our “BIG ISLAND ACTIVITIES” page for suggestions and information about Kona as well as other places of interest on the island of Hawai’i.
